Poonam Sharma has a master’s degree in Architecture from SCI-Arc and a B.A. in Literature from Scripps College, Claremont. While at SCI-Arc, Poonam was the assistant teacher for many undergraduate and graduate level seminars and visual studies courses.

After completing her graduate studies at SCI-Arc, Poonam worked with former advisors Robert Mangurian and Mary-Ann Ray of StudioWorks on two new schools for the Los Angeles Unified School district, both currently under construction in Los Angeles. She then worked with the Jerde Partnership in Venice Beach on several large multi-use projects.

Prior to founding LOC with Ali Jeevanjee, Poonam worked with the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston as an Exhibition Designer on several major exhibitions and gallery redesigns.
